"Sarasota Prayer Breakfast"
Friday, May 7, 2010
We recently had the privilege of singing at the annual Sarasota Prayer Breakfast. We've sung at the event before, but this year was different. Instead of bringing in a guest speaker, the organizers dressed up like some of our nation's founding fathers and read speeches and invocations that were given around the time of the Revolutionary War. Patrick Henry, Ben Franklin, John Adams, and George Washington were some of the people who made special appearances. It was neat for me because I love American history. Also, I think everyone in attendance really enjoyed the reminder about our country's rich heritage. We sang the national anthem and a few other songs that fit the occasion. It was a great experience and we were glad to contribute our music to the event!
