As an ordained minister, Stephen (Dad) ministers the Word of God as the family shares a wide variety of music ranging from traditional hymns to contemporary songs of praise, with solos, duets, trios, quartets and the full family ensemble. Meet The Ditchfield Family Singers…
Stephen and Bernice Ditchfield
… the patriarch and matriarch of the Ditchfield Family, and the Musical Director and Assistant to the Musical Director of The Ditchfield Family Singers. Born and raised near Toronto, Canada, these two met and married in their late teens and have been inseparable ever since. Stephen is the consummate performer, an enthralling soloist, the bass in their championship-winning quartet, and the host of the many shows they perform year-round. Bernice is the quintessential alto – she’s never heard a song she couldn’t hum along with in harmony, which is why the family teases her about learning her notes … and not making it up on the spot. She tends to gravitate to the bass notes for some reason! They have spent the last 38 years in the Sarasota area, raising their family and developing one of America’s most versatile family vocal ensembles, encompassing a wide variety of musical styles and genres, and including the individual talents of each of their five children, spouses, and grandchildren. Nathanael and Regina Ditchfield
… Nathanael is the oldest son and started performing at the age of 15 when he joined his first barbershop quartet. In 1993, when the family needed a soprano to “fill-in” for several Christmas Concerts, Regina gladly volunteered and 10 months later, she and Nathanael were married! Regina, an accomplished soloist and performer, had been touring and singing throughout her time at Southeastern College and immediately fit right in, not just with the singing group, but with the family as well. Nathanael and Regina have been married for 31 years and have four sons, two daughter-in-laws, and 3 grandsons and a 1 granddaughter. Andrew, 29 and his wife Natasha have toddler Noah Paul, baby girl, Amara Joy and are expecting their third child in 2026. Christopher, 27 and his wife Sydney have 2 boys, Ezra Brooks and Oliver Dansby and their third child will be arriving just in time for Christmas this year! Joshua, 23 works with Regina at PetLift Manufacturing and Timothy, 17, just graduated from The Classical Academy in Sarasota. Nathanael is in full-time ministry and serves as the Minister of Administration at First Baptist Church of Bradenton. Regina is the office manager and a financial operations specialist for PetLift Manufacturing and S&B Metal Products in Bradenton.
Stephanie Ditchfield
… the youngest daughter in the family, and everyone’s sweetheart! With a vocal quality reminiscent of the likes of Anita Kerr, Stephanie is a multi-talented performer – a First Soprano, and an accomplished ballroom dancer, choreographer and photographer. In addition to singing and traveling with the family, Stephanie is a licensed Nail Care Specialist and owns Milan Salon on the north side of Bee Ridge Road between Tuttle and Shade Avenue. In her spare time, Stephanie is in demand as an event coordinator and decorator for weddings and special events. She is thoroughly adored by her 8 year old rescue dog, Arwyn, who is jealous of all the attention given to the “littles” in our family!
Michael and Taylor Ditchfield
Michael is the middle son, the lead singer in “My Three Sons”, (State Champion Barbershop Quartet within the family) and the Assistant Musical Director for the full family ensemble. Michael works for an IT company, specializing in the implementation of VoIP phone systems.
Taylor Zea originally began singing with the family as a back-up/substitute in 2007 when Nate & Gina were expecting their 4th son right in the middle of December. She stayed on as a permanent member of the group at Michael’s request, and it was no surprise that in 2010 she became a permanent member of the family when she married Michael. Taylor works as the Music/Art teacher at their children’s school and is Worship Director at their church.
Michael & Taylor have two highly energetic and musically inclined kids – Audrey (8) who’s is now in 2nd grade and Aiden (5) who is in kindergarten. In their spare time Audrey and Aiden enjoy re-enacting scenes in their living room to the 1879 Comic Opera “Pirates of Penzance”. As a family they enjoying going to theme parks, playing games and doing puzzles together, doing outside activities, and dancing to 1960s hits while folding laundry. 🤣
David and Katy Ditchfield
… David is the youngest son in the family. In the span of a single concert, it is common for David to sing bass, baritone, tenor and even some alto! He also contributes to the development of the family vocal arrangements. David recently joined his nephews Andrew & Christopher at Pye Barker Fire & Safety where he serves as a certified Fire Safety Technician.
David and his beautiful wife Katy, have been happily married for ten years. Katy’s soaring First Soprano voice was a welcome addition to the Ditchfield Family Singers’s harmonies, and her Broadway-style showstoppers have become one of the highlights of their shows! Katy loves being a wife and mother and works as the Kindergarten teacher at Calvary Chapel School. David & Katy are soaking up every minute with their rambunctious 7 year old, James Calvin and their precious 5 year old, Lucy Kate. James enjoys singing with all his heart and re-enacting his favorite Bible stories while Lucy loves to cuddle and amuses everyone with her dramatic communication skills! Favorite family activities include trips to theme parks, Chick-Fil-A, playing Candy Land and dancing to praise and worship music.
Our oldest daughter Christin Ditchfield Lazo is an author, conference speaker, and syndicated radio show host. She and her husband Andrew, an Episcopalian Priest, join us to emcee our annual Christmas Shows each year.
